The Vasquez Rocks Natural Area is a 932-acre park located in the Sierra Pelona Mountains of northern Los Angeles County near Agua Dulce Springs. It’s a wonderful area for hiking, horseback riding and picnicking.

There are dramatic desert geological formations to explore, and its close proximity to LA has made it a popular location for the entertainment industry with a long list of film credits, such as Star Trek, Blazing Saddles and The Flintstones.

"The Nature Center is wonderful as visitors can learn about the area and the indigenous people who lived here," says Metrolink writer, Tracy Smith. "Each year an Easter Play is put on in front of the rock formations. Also, the last Saturday of the month there is a free Docent Naturalist guided beginner hike."
