Biking Glendora Mountain Road through the majestic alpine scenery of the Angeles National Forest is a classic and beloved SoCal cycling route. It’s a favorite among cycling enthusiasts, but it’s quite accessible to riders of any skill level as it’s not too steep of a grade. This 20-mile ride is open during all seasons of the year since SoCal’s “winter weather” is often mild enough to still take advantage of enjoying time in the great outdoors.

“This ride is frequently called the route of the 'Queen' stage of the Tour of California professional bicycle race,” says biking enthusiast and Metrolink Senior Railroad Civil Engineer, Colm M. “The last time the professionals rode this route, it was won by the 2020 Tour de France winner Tadej Pogačar."

The route begins at roughly 1,050 ft and bobs up and down along the ridges of the mountainous, scenic Glendora Mountain Road toward Baldy Village, which is perfectly perched above the Greater Los Angeles region, sitting at 4,193 feet. Once at the top, riders can enjoy the satisfaction of their accomplishments and bask in the glory of soaking in the panoramic views.
