Metrolink Announces Special Service for FIFA World Cup 2026™ Events in Los Angeles

Enhanced rail service will help fans travel to matches at Los Angeles Stadium (SoFi Stadium) and select fan fest events

LOS ANGELES — Metrolink, Southern California’s regional passenger rail provider, will offer special service to support FIFA World Cup 2026™ events taking place in Los Angeles this summer, including all local match days at Los Angeles Stadium (SoFi Stadium) and the Heart of the City: Los Angeles Union Station Fan Zone taking place June 25-28 at Metrolink’s operational hub.

“With thousands of fans and visitors from around the world expected to attend, Metrolink will play a critical role in connecting locals and out-of-town guests to these historic events while reducing traffic and improving mobility across the region,” said Doug Chaffee, Metrolink Board Chair. “As we welcome one of sport’s greatest global traditions, we will also be paying close attention to lessons learned, as Southern California prepares for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in just two short years.”

To help residents and out-of-town guests travel safely and efficiently to and from matches, celebrations and related activities, Metrolink will supplement its existing schedule with special service on the 91/Perris Valley, Antelope Valley, Orange County, San Bernardino and Ventura County lines during all eight Los Angeles match days and four fan fest dates at Union Station.

  • Local matches at Los Angeles Stadium – June 12, 15, 18, 21, 25, 28 and July 2, 10
  • Heart of the City: Los Angeles Union Station Fan Zone – June 25, 26, 27, 28

Metrolink’s modified schedule will include late-night options for evening matches. With their Metrolink ticket, customers enjoy complimentary transfers to LA Metro, including special direct bus service between LA Union Station and Los Angeles Stadium. They will also be able to utilize free bus service connecting Anaheim Station with the competition venue. Attendance at World Cup matches and related events is expected to be significant, and customers are encouraged to plan ahead and travel early to help ensure timely arrival at venues.

Standard Metrolink fares will apply throughout the tournament. Metrolink’s SoCal Day Pass is available for unlimited rides systemwide on the day of purchase for $15 on weekdays and $10 on weekends. Up to three children ages 17 and under ride free with a fare-paying adult on weekends.

Fans can reach the FIFA Fan Festival™ LA, which will be held June 11-14 at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Exposition Park, by transferring to LA Metro’s A, B or D lines at Union Station and then connecting with the E Line. Official Los Angeles World Cup 26 Fan Zone events located in downtown Burbank on July 18-19 and the Pomona Fairplex on July 14-15 and 18-19 are also easily accessible via Metrolink’s regular service schedule.

On select dates throughout the 39-day competition, Metrolink codeshare service between Los Angeles and Ventura and the Rail 2 Rail® program – which allows Monthly Pass holders to ride any Amtrak Pacific Surfliner train within Metrolink’s service area – will be temporarily suspended. Affected dates include June 11-15, 18, 21, 25-28, and July 2, 10, and 18-19.
