Metrolink CEO Brief – June 7, 2019
Social Media Giveaway Leads to Most Successful Contest for Ongoing Partnership with Hollywood Pantages
Our Digital Communications team has had a long-term ongoing partnership with the Hollywood Pantages Theatre, which includes regular giveaways that led to our most successful Facebook social media contest with them yet.
Between Tuesday, May 28 and Friday, May 31, we invited our social media followers to enter a contest to win a pair of tickets to see Phantom of the Opera on June 6, courtesy of Hollywood Pantages.
During the contest we had more than 700 individual entries on Facebook with a reach of 18,276. This is the largest engagement we’ve had for a contest on Facebook in regards to our partnership with the Hollywood Pantages.
Celebrating Diversity & Inclusion: Pride Month
At Metrolink, we celebrate diversity of all forms, especially as Southern California is one of the most diverse regions in the country. The month of June is nationally known as Pride Month, where we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. In fact, the City of Los Angeles is home to the second largest LGBTQ+ population in the country and this week officials lit City Hall in rainbow colors (pictured) as part of a series of Pride-related events.
This weekend, the City of West Hollywood will host the annual LA Pride Parade. According to the organization that hosts the parade and festival, more than 400,000 spectators are expected to travel to West Hollywood to be part of the weekend-long festivities.
Riders can take advantage of our $10 Weekend Day Pass to travel to L.A. Union Station and transfer for free to the Metro Red Line to the Hollywood/Highland Station. From there, three free shuttle services are available to get to West Hollywood.
On Saturday, June 22, the City of Santa Ana will host OC Pride Parade and Festival in Downtown Santa Ana. This event is only a few blocks from the Santa Ana Station and is expected to draw 25,000 people.
Happy Pride!
