Metrolink has introduced a new ONT Connect ticket integration, streamlining travel to and from the Ontario International Airport (ONT). This integration allows travelers to purchase Metrolink tickets with ONT Connect as a designated origin or destination, enabling a seamless transfer between Metrolink’s San Bernardino Line and the ONT Connect shuttle service, operated by Omnitrans. The shuttle offers non-stop service between the Rancho Cucamonga Station and ONT Terminals 2 and 4.
Key features of the new integration include:
- Single Ticket Convenience: Passengers can use one ticket, purchased at a Metrolink ticket machine or on the mobile app, to board both the Metrolink train and the ONT Connect shuttle.
- Enhanced Travel Planning: Metrolink’s online scheduling tool displays transfers to ONT Connect shuttles, assisting travelers in planning their journeys.
- Promotion of Car-Free Travel: This initiative is part of a broader effort to provide convenient, car-free travel options to Southern California’s airports.
This integration enhances connectivity and accessibility for travelers in the Inland Empire and promotes ONT as a premier travel destination.
Metrolink offers additional airport connections, including direct service to Hollywood Burbank Airport. The LAX FlyAway® service from L.A. Union Station, the terminus for six of Metrolink’s seven lines, allows passengers to add the $9.75 bus fare to their train ticket at the point of purchase. Metrolink Monthly Pass holders can transfer to FlyAway® buses for free with a valid flight boarding pass.
Metrolink offers several promotions to encourage residents and tourists alike to explore Southern California without a car. These include the $15 Summer Day Pass available on weekdays through Friday, August 30, the year-round $10 Weekend Day Pass and the Kids Ride Free on Weekends promotion, all of which offer unlimited rides on the day of purchase.
