$15 Summer Day Pass

Kids Ride Free on Weekends

Introducing the new $15 Summer Day Pass offered weekdays beginning Tuesday, May 31 through Friday, September 2. The Summer Day Pass provides unlimited rides on one weekday of travel throughout the Metrolink system. Details of the new pass:

  • Valid for unlimited travel on one weekday (Monday through Friday) during promotion period.
  • Valid for travel system-wide on all seven lines.
  • One pass per customer – pass is non-transferable.
  • Available on the Metrolink Mobile App only.
  • No advance purchase - must be used on date of purchase.
  • Valid for all fare types at $15 per customer.
  • Valid for hundreds of free transit transfers including to LA Metro buses, shuttles, rail, and subway lines as well as codeshare trains
  • Earn 50 SoCal Explorer points when submitted for redemption.
  • This is a pilot program available between Tuesday, May 31 and Friday, September 2, 2022.
  • Not valid on the following holiday Mondays: Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day. Riders may purchase a $10 Holiday Pass available on those days.

The $15 Summer Day Pass is perfect for weekday trips to the beach, a hike to a new location, or a visit to a local amusement destination or out to a new restaurant. Take an adventure to any of our over 200 EXPLORE destinations across Southern California, all for just $15 per person, per day. The Summer Day Pass makes it more affordable than ever to take the train!

$15 Summer Day Pass FAQ

The $15 Summer Day Pass is a new weekday ticket perfect for summer travel Monday through Friday throughout Metrolink’s service area. The ticket provides unlimited system-wide travel at a flat $15 price no matter where you are going. The new $15 Summer Day Pass is a pilot program available from Tuesday, May 31 through Friday, September 2, 2022.

As part of Metrolink’s Summer of Adventure we want everyone to get out and enjoy our beautiful Southern California summer. Helping riders with some savings for their travels is a great way to support them and the environment. Plus, knowing that escalating fuel prices could derail summer plans, we want to be the travel solution for our riders and others to try the train.

The $15 Summer Day Pass is available exclusively on the Metrolink Mobile App.

To purchase the pass, go to the ticket menu on the mobile app and search for $15 Summer Day Pass. Once purchased the ticket will appear in your ticket wallet and will be good all day, on the day of travel. The ticket will expire at the end of the day.

The $15 Summer Day Pass is available as a pilot program all summer beginning Tuesday, May 31 through Friday, September 2.

The $15 Summer Day Pass is its own ticket type. If you qualify for another discount, and know the station pairs for your trip, your other discounted ticket may be less expensive than the $15 Summer Day Pass. It depends on the length of your trip and whether you’ll be making multiple stops along the way. The Summer Day Pass was designed for exploring SoCal to try new destinations on weekdays throughout the summer months.

The $15 Summer Day Pass is valid for transfers to LA Metro buses, shuttles, rail, and subway lines as well as codeshare trains.

Children 5 and younger always ride free with a fare paying adult regardless of the ticket type.  

Metrolink’s $10 Weekend Pass includes our Kids Ride Free on weekends promotion and is a great option for weekend travel for larger families with older children. Kids Ride Free on weekends provides free fare for up to three children, age 17 and under with a fare paying adult.

The $15 Summer Day Pass ticket type is available as a pilot program from Tuesday, May 31 through Friday, September 2, 2022. If the Summer Day Pass is a ticket type our riders like and use, we may offer it again next summer, extend the program length or consider adding the ticket type to our Ticket Machines.
