Metrolink is offering free rides all day on Monday, April 22 (Earth Day) to encourage people to help our planet by traveling by train instead of car. By choosing Metrolink you are reducing your carbon footprint and contributing to a healthier Southern California. You also avoid traffic while enjoying a comfortable, convenient, and stress-free ride with friends or family.
No ticket or other document is needed for travel on Metrolink on Earth Day. Simply jump on at a station and enjoy the ride.

Yes! Rides are free on the Arrow service on Earth Day, April 22, and the weekend leading up to Earth Day. You can ride for free on Saturday, April 20, Sunday, April 21 and Monday, April 22. The free rides are only applicable for the Arrow trains and do not transfer to regular Metrolink service on April 20 or April 21.
Simply visit Metrolink online, select your origin and destination station, and click “Get Schedule.” This will provide you with departure and arrival times.

No, prepaid pass holders will not be reimbursed for the free fare day.
Ticket machines and the Metrolink mobile app will be operating, but rides are free on Earth Day. Take advantage of the free ride and purchase your 7-Day Pass or other multi-day Flex Pass on the next day you plan to travel.
Seats on Metrolink trains are available on a first come, first served basis. Due to an anticipated increase in passengers on Earth Day, some passengers may have to stand. Arriving at the departing station early will decrease your chance of having to stand.
Bike space is available, but limited. Traditional passenger cars hold up to 3 bikes, and our modified bike cars hold up to 11 bikes. We suggest arriving early to secure a bike space.
Metrolink riders can ride any Metrolink train throughout our system for free on Earth Day, April 22. Additionally, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro), San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA), Orange County Transit Authority (OCTA), Riverside County Transit Authority (RCTC) and Ventura County Transportation Commission (VCTC) are providing free transportation throughout their county, which includes transfers from Metrolink to other transit operators.
Transit operators in other counties and on other systems may require a fare. Free transfers from Metrolink to Amtrak Pacific Surfliner, including codeshare trains, will not apply on April 22.
