The San Fernando Road Bike Path is a 5.7-mile biking and walking trail that runs with the train tracks, along San Fernando Road from the Metrolink Sylmar/San Fernando station. This trail goes all the way to Pacoima, then cuts through the city of San Fernando, where it’s marked as the Mission City Trail.

The path is fully landscaped and lighted, with fencing separating the trail from the train tracks. Since it’s flat and paved it can be a kid-friendly biking route. This is an accessible ride for bikers of any fitness and experience level.

In the future, this trail will be further extended southeast even toward Burbank, offering additional access to Bob Hope Airport as well as three additional Metrolink stations. The Sun Valley, Downtown Burbank and the currently under-construction Bob Hope Airport-Hollywood Way stop will be added to the list of stations bikers can access this trail from, to enjoy a ride in the California sunshine.
