The Commemorative Air Force Southern California Wing
At the Southern California Wing of the Commemorative Air Force, WWII history buffs, aviation enthusiasts of all ages, and military supporters will find a collection or planes and relics to keep them intrigued.
Their nine planes on display include several varieties of aircraft, including one Japanese Zero model. Eight of their planes are in working, flyable condition — so you can take off with one of the Commemorative Air Force pilots and get an authentic experience of aviation history.
If you're looking for a riveting historical experience on the ground, the on-site museum has volunteer docents to give the exhibits life through context and story for groups of 10 or more and with a reservation. Experience the interior of select craft on the ground as well, which gives children of all ages the chance to "fly" and pretend they are the Red Baron, making the skies safe for freedom.
