Mission San Fernando Rey de España
Founded way back in 1797, Mission San Fernando is the seventeenth Spanish mission to be built in California. This active parish features a simple adobe church and a beautiful convent — the padre’s quarters and a guest house — both open to visitors.
Families can also explore displays and paintings in the on-site Archival Center for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, as well as sculptures in the two sprawling landscaped gardens. Remember this one when it comes time for that 4th Grade Mission project.
