Metrolink is Southern California’s regional passenger rail system connecting Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, and surrounding communities. Metrolink trains connect riders to major destinations, including LA Union Station, stadium events, fan zones, airports, and local transit systems including LA Metro bus and rail, OC Bus, Foothill Transit bus, and more.

Metro is the local public transportation system serving Los Angeles County with subway, light rail, and bus service. Metrolink and Metro are separate public transportation agencies.

L.A. Union Station is Southern California’s largest regional transportation hub, where riders can connect to Metrolink, Amtrak, Metro rail, buses, airport connections, and event transportation.

Metrolink is not operated by FIFA, but it is one of the primary regional transportation options connecting fans to World Cup matches, fan zones, and celebrations across Southern California.

Metrolink can connect riders to LA Union Station, Metro bus and rail connections to Los Angeles Stadium and official Fan Zones in LA County.

Metrolink connects fans to several World Cup Fan Zones and event destinations across Southern California, including direct train service LA Union Station and Downtown Burbank station for nearby fan events, celebrations, and activities.

For events near Downtown Burbank, ride Metrolink to the Burbank - Downtown Station along the Antelope Valley Line or Ventura County Line. The event is a short walk from the station.

For events at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, riders can connect from LA Union Station to Metro rail service for a short trip to the venue.

Fans traveling to the Fairplex Fan Zone can ride Metrolink to the Pomona-North Station and connect to local transportation options to reach the event site.

For matches and events at SoFi Stadium, riders can connect from LA Union Station to Metro’s direct stadium shuttle and transit services.

Metrolink riders with a valid ticket can connect for free to Metro for direct bus service to matches at the Los Angeles Stadium (SoFi Stadium).

Metro’s direct bus service to Los Angeles Stadium can be used from Union Station and Metrolink’s Anaheim (ARTIC) Station. More information about Metro’s direct service to the World Cup events can be found here.

To get to the World Cup matches at Los Angeles Stadium (at SoFi Stadium), transfer from Metrolink at LA Union Station to Metro’s World Cup Enhanced Service, a bus that provides direct connection to and from the stadium.

Metrolink riders can connect to all Metro services for free with valid fare.

Fares vary depending on where you start and end your trip. Most convenient for World Cup events, Metrolink offers One-Way Tickets for single trip travel, and SoCal Day Passes for unlimited travel on one day.

Yes. Metrolink offers several free ride options for children.

During the week, up to three children, ages 5 & under, can ride free with an adult using a valid ticket.  Each additional child (after three): Pays a discounted Student/Youth regular fare.

On weekends, Metrolink’s  Kids Ride Free on Weekends promotion allows up to three children, ages 17 and under, to travel anywhere on the Metrolink system with a paying adult.

Note: The kids ride free promotions apply to Metrolink trains only and do not include transfers to other transit services.

We recommend arriving at least 20–30 minutes before departure, especially on match days and during large fan events. This allows enough time to settle ticket purchasing, pay for parking at your station, if it’s necessary, and find your boarding track assignment.

Metrolink will provide updates through service alerts, station announcements, and website notifications. You may also subscribe to Metrolink Alerts for timely and relevant alerts for the trains and stations you select.

Yes. Metrolink plans to add train service on select lines on the dates listed below to support increased ridership demand.

Metrolink plans to operate an enhanced post-game service on select event days. Riders should always confirm final departure times before traveling. Trains will depart as scheduled.

Yes. Some trains may experience heavier ridership. Riders are encouraged to arrive early, plan ahead, and allow additional travel time.

Trains could experience higher ridership during major World Cup events. Riders should check service alerts frequently and allow extra travel time.

No. Due to increased travel demand during World Cup 2026, Codeshare and Rail 2 Rail will be temporarily suspended on select dates: June 11–15, 18, 21, 25–28, and July 2, 10, 18–19.

Yes. Metrolink is a family-friendly regional rail service with onboard conductors, station security support, customer service teams, and additional staff at major stations during high-demand events.

Yes. Metrolink trains and stations are ADA accessible.

Passengers requiring boarding assistance must wait at the top of the access ramp located at the end of the platform. 

Wheelchairs, scooters, and motorized mobility devices can only be accommodated on the lower level of the passenger car that stops in front of the platform access ramp. Mobility devices must not exceed 32” W x 58” L, or weigh more than 600 lbs., including occupant. 

Yes. While eating and drinking is permitted on Metrolink trains, it is not permitted on Arrow trains. Food and beverages must be stored with personal belongings.

Metrolink’s alcohol policy remains in effect during World Cup matches, fan events, and celebrations. Alcoholic beverages may not be consumed on board Metrolink trains or at Metrolink stations. If you bring alcohol with you, it must remain sealed and stored at all times while riding Metrolink.

 We’re excited to help fans get to and from the region’s biggest events, and we ask all riders to help maintain a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for everyone. Riders who violate Metrolink policies may be subject to removal from the train or additional enforcement action.
