Planes of Fame Air Museum
Calling all aviation enthusiasts! The Planes of Fame Air Museum is a definite must-see. This museum, located on the north side of the Chino Airport, brings aviation history to life with its fleet of still-functioning aircraft on display.
Planes of Fame has an extensive collection of rare aircraft -- and some have undergone detailed restoration in order to preserve the history they represent. They cover the history of manned flight from the Wright Brothers to the Apollo Space missions.
Explore their airfield on a self-guided tour or request a guided tour in advance online. With 5 hangars’ worth of space, guests are sure to see amazing aircraft at this unique spot. On weekends, visitors can explore their Boeing B-17 “Flying Fortress.” Planes of Fame pilots fly live flights on select days, so be sure to check the website before you visit for an up-to-date aircraft flight and event schedule.
The museum has a terrific gift shop, offers annual memberships for true aviation buffs, and hosts school field trips and educational scholarships.
There are many special events held at the museum throughout the year, including their annual Air Show, which is filled with flight skill demos, acrobatics and tricks and lots and lots of airplanes.
