Original McDonald's Site & Museum
The site of the original McDonald's restaurant in San Bernardino is a true piece of American corporate business history. The site has since been turned into a museum (even though the museum itself is not technically affiliated with McDonald’s -- it’s owned and operated by Albert Okura, the founder and CEO of restaurant chain, Juan Pollo).
This destination details the history of this iconic restaurant’s first location and its lasting legacy, which first began in 1948 when brothers Dick and Mac McDonald changed the course of fast-food history by franchising their beloved burger chain.
McDonald’s is a universally recognized establishment, and its “golden arches” have since conquered cities across the globe, but this original location’s museum is filled with memorabilia and hosts an extensive collection of McDonald’s historical artifacts for visitors to learn from.
Mementos such as news clippings, menus, straws, and even a prototype of ketchup dispensing gun can be found here, which give a deeper insight into the story of how this fast-food empire has quickly grown and expanded in the past half-century.
