We worked to create a train schedule with better connections and increased frequency while optimizing our equipment and crew resources. The new schedule will add 32 weekday trains and will now operate 174 trains Monday through Friday. Now, you’ll have more midday options and increased frequency across the lines. We’re also tripling our connections, going from 67 to more than 225 through Los Angeles Union Station.

The new schedule took effect on Monday, October 21, 2024.

We apologize if the new train schedule has eliminated your train. This schedule offers more connections and service frequency across our system. Unfortunately, for the best schedule optimization, some trains were canceled, but many were added. These changes were informed by ridership data, equipment resources, and traffic pattern data throughout SoCal.

Our plan is to have 5 cars on all train sets. We will monitor the number of riders on each train and make adjustments as necessary.

If your regular train has been discontinued, please check the new schedule for alternative options. In many cases, there will be another train that closely matches your previous time. If the new train times won't work for your schedule, please share your feedback by taking our survey or by contacting us here to share your feedback.

When we developed this scheduled, we worked to increase and improve our connections. For example, at L.A. Union Station, we've increased potential connections from 67 to over 225.

Some connections to other transit systems may also be impacted due to changes in departure and arrival times and we are working closely with our partners to ensure seamless transfers. We recommend checking both Metrolink and partner schedules for the most up-to-date information.

No, at this time, ticket prices will remain the same despite the schedule changes. We’re committed to providing affordable, high-quality service to all riders.

At this time, there is only one weekend service update on the IE-OC line. Train 860 has been renumbered to 1860 and now departs Oceanside station at 6:23 p.m., giving you extra time to enjoy the beach!

We look forward to providing more frequent weekend trains and more options for leisure travelers and those who work on the weekend.

We’re excited to introduce 20 quick-turn trains between L.A. and Covina to accommodate increased demand for this corridor.
